Moving to Develop Thinking Tools and Sensory Strategies

Lee Elementary - Fall 2015
Wendy Pray and Cherie Hazelwood
$1,432.00

Lee Elementary's Wendy Pray and Cherie Hazelwood received $1,432 for "Moving to Develop Thinking Tools and Sensory Strategies."  This grant funded a therapeutic swing and suspension system equipment for use with Active Learning students and Pre-School Program Children with Disabilities students.  An indoor swing system helps the students in a number of ways.  It builds their strength, stamina, and improves coordination, balance, and motor skills. The motor skill improvements carry over into the independence of the students in areas such as feeding, self-care, and help reduce the negative impact of their sensory processing differences on their functioning in the educational setting.
